Almost every buyer who walks into our showroom asks the same question: is it better to buy a new bike or a good used one? There is no single right answer — it depends on your budget, how you will use the bike and how much risk you are comfortable with. Here are the points that actually make the difference.
Upfront cost
A used bike costs less on day one, which is the main reason people choose one. Compare the current new price on our Honda bikes and United bikes pages with used bikes for sale of the same model to see how big the gap really is for the model you want. For popular models that hold their value well, the gap between a nearly new used bike and a brand-new one can be smaller than you expect.
Condition and risk
With a new bike you know its whole history, and it comes with the manufacturer's warranty. A used bike can be excellent, but you have to check it yourself — engine, frame, documents and accident history. Our used bike checklist explains exactly what to look at.
Paperwork
A new bike needs new registration and a number plate. A used bike needs an ownership transfer with biometric verification, plus clear token tax and e-challans. Both are routine, and we handle both at our office in Adda Pipli, Vehari.
Installments
Installment plans are possible on both. In our installment calculator, advance payment options start from 45% for new bikes and from 35% for used bikes, with plans of 3, 6, 12 or 18 months. For new bikes the calculator also shows the urgent delivery and booking options.
Resale value
A new bike loses value fastest in its first year or two. If you plan to keep a bike for a short time, a lightly used one can make more sense. If you will keep it for many years, a new bike gives you the full life of the machine from the start.
Quick guide
- Choose new if you want a warranty, a known history, and plan to keep the bike for years.
- Choose used if your budget is tight, you can inspect a bike properly (or bring someone who can), and the price is clearly below new.
- Not sure? Visit us — we sell new Honda and United motorcycles and also list used bikes, so we can show you both side by side.
