The Honda CD 70, CD 70 Dream and CG 125 are the three Honda motorcycles our customers ask about most. They are all simple, reliable bikes with strong resale value, but they suit different riders. Here is how they compare using the specifications listed on our model pages.
Engine and power
- Honda CD 70 and CD 70 Dream share the same 72cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine with a 4-speed gearbox, rated at about 5 bhp.
- Honda CG 125 has a 124.7cc engine rated at about 9.75 bhp — nearly double the power — also with a 4-speed gearbox.
If you regularly ride with a passenger, carry loads, or ride long distances on the highway, the extra power of the CG 125 makes a real difference. For short city and village commutes, the 70cc engine is more than enough.
Weight and handling
The CD 70 (about 82 kg) and CD 70 Dream (about 83 kg) are light and easy to handle in traffic, which makes them good first bikes. The CG 125 (about 110 kg) is heavier and feels more planted on open roads.
Fuel tank and running cost
The 70cc bikes carry an 8.5 litre tank and the CG 125 carries 9.7 litres. The smaller engine uses less fuel, so the CD 70 and CD 70 Dream cost less to run day to day. Parts for all three are widely available across Pakistan.
CD 70 or CD 70 Dream?
Mechanically they are very close. The CD 70 Dream is the more styled version of the CD 70 and costs a little more, so the choice mostly comes down to looks and budget. See the current price of each on the Honda CD 70 and Honda CD 70 Dream pages.
Which one should you buy?
- Honda CD 70 — the lowest-cost Honda for daily commuting, students and first-time riders.
- Honda CD 70 Dream — the same practical 70cc package with a more modern look.
- Honda CG 125 — for riders who need more power for passengers, loads or longer distances. A self-start version is also available.
All three are available on installments — try them in our installment calculator. Prices change from time to time, so the current on-road price is always shown on each model page rather than in this article.
